Mr. Mr. Rae Kwon Chung, Director of Environment and Development Division (EDD) of ESCAP. Mr. Chung has catalzyed thinking and dialogue on practical pathways to Sustainable Development, making ESCAP a leader in promoting the concept of green growth since 2005. Under his leadership, ESCAP has launched the Low Carbon Green Growth Roadmap in 2012.
He trains specialists in the field of ecology and sustainable development, conducts research on improving energy efficiency and introducing clean technologies. Rae Kwon Chung proposed the idea of unilateral CDM (Clean Development Mechanism) to enable developing countries to initiate green-house gas mitigation projects on their own initiative.
